  • These guides do a great job of addressing this key issue for People of Color and their allies:

  1. Southeast Addiction Center - This guide features dozens of mental health and substance use resources for Black men (added 3/2023)
  2. Live Another Day - Live Another Day believes in equal access to life-saving mental health and substance use resources. This website provides extensive information on the best resources available. (added 3/2023)
  3. Centric Behavioral Health - Extensive mental health and substance use resources for LGBTQ+  Asian Americans (added 3/2023)


  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration states that over 19 million Americans suffer from substance abuse issues. Studies have shown that finding employment plays a huge factor in maintaining sobriety as having a regular work schedule builds a routine and structure as well as provides a sense of purpose. To help people in recovery gain meaningful employment, Resume Builder created a resource that provides information on job searching, addressing employment gaps, interview preparation, and the laws that protect them.   • Here is an interesting site about how vision impacts mental health. It includes: how vision issues affect mental health, which vision issues have the greatest impact, mental health disorders and their impact on eye health, kids' vision and mental health and coping with vision problems.   • A resource guide for parents to provide insight on the signs and causes of substance abuse, treatment options, and helpful ways to communicate with their children whether they’re teens or adults. Helping a loved one who is struggling with addiction can be challenging and families play a big part, especially parents. According to SAMHSA, in 2020, 40.3 million Americans aged 12 or older (or 14.5 percent of this population) had a substance use disorder in the past year. (added 6/2022)


  • The people at BicycleHealth.com have published a paper on Mental Health and Opioid Use Disorder. They note that 20% or the 39 million people in the US with mental health disorders also use prescription opioids. (added 5/2022)
  • The objective of RehabSpot is to provide the necessary tools and information to help individuals and families in the community. (added 5/2022)
  • The website Alcoholrehabhelp.org offers information about alcohol treatment and recovery options with their guide. (added 3/2022)
  • Social Media Victim's Law Center publishes Social Media Addiction and its impact on mental health. "...98 percent of young adults (aged 16 to 24) are online in Western countries. The average person spends about 20 minutes on Facebook, the most popular social media site, and 20 percent of adolescents use social media for at least five hours daily..." (added 3/2022)
  • Addiction Guide states that it is one of the only educational websites founded by a recovering addict, an addict’s spouse, and a board-certified addiction doctor. (added 12/2021)
  • From Iris Healing website is an article about Anxiety and Addiction and the connection between them. "The relationship between anxiety and substance use disorders is multifaceted.... Researchers have begun to understand that anxiety and substance use disorders commonly co-occur, and people who suffer from one of the disorders are more likely to suffer from the other as well." (added 11/2021)
  • From the Blueprints for Recovery website is an article about The Dangers of Mixing Alcohol and Drugs (added 11/2021)
  • OK Rehab specializes in addiction treatment. This treatment is available via both inpatient and outpatient treatment providers. We also work with clinics that are able to facilitate treatment taking place in your own home (added 11/2021)
